In all aspects of the workplace, the performance edge is currently being gained by those
organisations which succeed in delivering demonstrable value to their clients. There is a need to go
further than providing excellent service, towards providing empathy and solutions that genuinely add
value to perceived problems. This requires, more than ever before, an understanding of the clients
concerns and issues and the ability to develop long term, mutually beneficial relationships with
individual clients. This means that each team member needs the skills and professionalism to act in
a consultative manner with clients, and each other, whatever their specific role. This course offers
an approach to interpersonal skill and consultative communication which is applicable to all roles
involved in developing solutions. At a personal level it offers the skills and tools for managing
client engagements, at a team or group level it provides a common framework and approach for
effective communication, analysis and decision making. This course has been developed for two main
client groups:
- Technical professionals who need to act as consultants when delivering their expertise to clients.
- Professionals who need a wider capacity to understand the client's business in order to sell
solutions, including interpersonal and services rather than having only a hardware or product
selling focus.
Other client groups for this course have included Professionals who install and maintain solutions
inside the client's organisation, internal consultants from specialist functions within the company,
HR professionals, line managers who have to initiate, implement and manage projects at any level of
the organisation
