Course Aims The course has been designed for any manager responsible for the selection and recruitment of personnel into sensitive positions. The aim of the course is to increase the level of knowledge and understanding of questioning technique, the importance of body language and review the steps involved in screening and vetting to validate the probity of the applicant.
Course Outcome At the end of the course delegates will be able to:
  • Identify the potential threats to security and safety in recruiting, and assess the degree of action appropriate for a post
  • Know of sources of information and appropriate checks to make before and after interview
  • Be able to design and ask appropriate questions to gain further information at interview
  • Have practised the skills of listening and responding to clues in language and body language at interview
  • Be able to weigh up the evidence to take appropriate decisions and actions at all stages of the recruitment cycle
Special Notes Course includes some preparatory work, simulated situations, role play and practice of techniques on fellow delegates. Role play may be video recorded for analysis and discussion.
Course Cost £1950 per course plus materials

Contents Pre course work. Following confirmed attendance each participant will be sent 3 recruitment scenarios for which they should prepare. They will be expected to lead on one, support on another and observe the third. Small groups of 3 will be formed in advance of the course. In addition relevant documentation on the vetting process will be sent out in advance of the programme.
