The Professional Security Officer will assist the candidate in the following essential areas:
- Duties and Responsibilities (Damage, Loss Prevention, AssignmentInstructions, types of Duties,
Equipment)
- Contribute to Health & Safety in the Workplace (Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Typical
Risks and Hazards, Signs)
- Communicate with Others (Communicating effectively, Phonetic Alphabet, Log Books, Messaging)
- Deal with Emergencies (Contacts, Dealing with Fire, Bomb Threats, Evacuation, Suspicious Objects)
- Control and Monitor Access to Premises and Property (ID Cards, Access of Employees, Keys,
Dealing with Intruders)
- Maintain the Security of Premises and Property (Patrols, Equipment, Scenes of Crime)
- Apprehend and Detain Suspects (The Law, Offences, Powers of Arrest, Caution)
- Carry out Searches (Consent, Random Searches, Procedures)
- Develop and Maintain Positive Working Relationships with Customers (Appearance, Customer care,
Complaints)
